Panhandle Shrine Club November Meeting Minutes
Minutes of the Meeting
November 15, 2017
The Panhandle Shrine Club met for a business meeting at the Panhandle Shrine Building in Gering on November 15, 2017. A social hour was held at 6:00 PM. There were 24 Nobles and their Ladies present.
President Morava welcomed those in attendance and led the group in prayer and then led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance. The Eastern Star provided a soup dinner of clam chowder, chili, and vegetable beef.
President Morava called the meeting to order at 7:10 PM. The meeting began with a presentation by the Gering Postmaster regarding Holiday mailings, shipping dates and types of packaging.
Secretary/Treasurer Kent McLellan read the October minutes to the group. A motion to approve the minutes was made by Noble Kurt Blazek and seconded by Noble Frank Wooden. All in favor, motion carried.
Secretary/Treasurer Kent McLellan provided a financial report covering the transactions for each account. There were no questions from the membership regarding the report. President Morava approved the report as presented.

Condolences Noble Gene Frizzell reported that condolences were sent to the family of Noble Dick
Parade Report President Morava led a discussion on the upcoming Veterans Day parade in Scottsbluff on November 11. Noble Chuck Cowan will be bringing the trailer and will pull it in the parade if nobody shows up to ride bikes. Anybody wanting to participate in the parade should report to Shrine Building at 9:30.

Building Committee Noble Kent Greenwalt reported that the leak in the roof has been repaired and the damaged ceiling tiles were replaced. Noble Greenman also reported that the plaque recognizing deceased members needed updated.

Circus Report No report
Lori Greenman reported on the Kids Explorer program. Member turnout was disappointing with only three members manning the both the entire day. The basketball hoop was a big success with the kids. Noble Ed Morava suggested a certificate of appreciation be made for Terry Scott of High Tech Auto for sponsoring our booth every year. Noble Ken Greenman suggested a plaque would be a more fitting demonstration of appreciation. Motion by Noble Greenman to have a plaque made, second by Noble Kurt Blazek. All ayes, motion carried.
The Childrens Christmas party will be on December 3, from 2:00 4:00 PM, Santa is scheduled to arrive at 2:30 PM. There will be a new Santa this year due to health issues. Games, face painting, toys and snacks will be provided.
The slate of officers for 2018 was presented to the club.

Motion to accept proposed slate of officers by Noble Kurt Blazek and second by Noble Kent Greenwalt. All ayes, motion carried. Officers will be installed during the January meeting.
President Morava discussed the Arbys fundraiser November 14. The next one is scheduled December 5, from 5:00 -8:00 PM.
President Morava reminded the group that the Christmas party will be on December 9, from 6:00 8:00 PM. The party will take place at MJs steakhouse in Scottsbluff.
Noble Chuck Cowan discussed a display case that he donated to the club. He also made the frame for the hospital map on the clubs wall.
There being no further business to come before the members, there was a motion by Noble Gene Frizzel second by Noble Kurt Blazek to adjourn. President Morava adjourned the meeting at 8:03 PM.
