Minutes of the Meeting

August 15, 2018


The Panhandle Shrine Club met for a business meeting at the Panhandle Shrine Building in Gering on August 15, 2018. A social hour was held at 6:00 PM. A fried chicken dinner with all the trimmings was served by the Eastern Star. There were 21 Nobles and their ladies present.

President Ewing called the meeting to order at 7:19 PM. Secretary/Treasurer Kent McLellan read the minutes of the June meeting. A motion to approve the minutes for the June meeting was made by Noble Ed Morava with a second by Noble Brad Childs. All in favor, motion carried.

Secretary/Treasurer Kent McLellan provided a financial report on club accounts. There were no questions from the membership regarding the report. President Ewing approved the report as presented.

Condolences Noble Gene Frizzell reported that Noble Max Rogers passed away recently.

Hospital Noble Brad Childs reported on the current children benefiting from Shrine services. Noble Childs also reported on the upcoming closing of the Minneapolis hospital. Clients will now be going to Salt Lake City, UT.

Building Noble Kent Greenwalt reported there was some recent water on the floor, but believes it was due to the severity of recent storms. President Ewing reported on recent maintenance completed on the building.

Hospitality No report

Parade Noble Kent Greenwalt discussed the upcoming Bayard and Kimball parades and encouraged members to attend.

Circus Committee No report

Old Business

Noble Brad Childs reported on the onions fundraiser. There were a total of 600 bags sold.

Noble Randy Olson discussed the Husker football ticket raffle fundraiser. 650 tickets were printed and over half were already sold.

New Business

President Ewing discussed the upcoming Tehama gun raffle. Tickets are $20.00 each and there are 34 guns being raffled. 3000 tickets were printed.

There being no further business to come before the members, President Ewing adjourned the meeting at 7:47 PM.
